Pünktlich zum Monat März enthüllte Lesley Gracie die 2025er Limited Edition des Hendrick‘s Gins: den Hendrick‘s Oasium. Diesmal will die Master Distillerin des Hendrick’s Gin Palace die ergänzenden Zutaten in einer Wüstenoase gefunden haben.
Flora der Wüstenoase
Während des Aufenthalts in der Wüstenoase, dem ein Match Polo auf Kamelen vorausging, soll Lesley Gracie auf eine Reihe von aromatischen Kräutern und frischen Früchten gestoßen sein. Welche das waren, wird nicht verraten. Zurück in ihrem „Cabinet of Curiosities“ innerhalb des Hendrick’s Gin Palace in Girvan im Südwesten Schottlands fügte die Master Distillerin der Rezeptur des originalen Hendrick’s Gins, hergestellt in gewohnter Manier sowohl per Mazeration und Destillation in einer Bennett Still als auch per Dampfinfusion in einer Carter Head Still aus elf Botanicals und angereichert mit Essenzen von Gurken sowie Rosenblättern, die gefundenen Zutaten hinzu. Abgefüllt wurde mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 43,4 Prozent und soweit bekannt ohne Zuckerzugabe. Wie immer schweigt man über den Umfang der Limitierung.
Tasting-Notes
Laut Verkostungsnotiz trifft in der Nase klassischer Wacholder auf üppige, grüne Aromen sowie delikate Kräuternoten und erfrischende Zitrusfrüchte. Am Gaumen würden sich seidige, grüne Noten in deliziöser Harmonie mit aromatischen Kräutern und einem wundervoll zitrusfrischen Abgang befinden.
Lesley Gracie erzählt: „It was fascinating to see what plants grow and thrive in an oasis; there are things you wouldn’t expect and some others that you absolutely would. There’s a very distinctive, green, fresh character to Hendrick’s Oasium and a specific bright citrus note from some particularly small desert botanicals. This is rounded off by a lovely depth of flavour and the aromatic oasis herbs tie it all together.“
Sie ergänzt: „I always take inspiration from my surroundings and playing polo on camels was hilarious. Whenever I see the palm trees at the Hendrick’s Gin Palace I’m transported back to that day when I fed my camel cucumbers, which it enjoyed immensely. It was so much fun I just had to capture that day in a gin as a way of keeping that memory forever!“

1 part orange liqueur
½ part lime juice
½ part sugar syrup
1 dash of aromatic bitters
Glass: Martini glass
Garnish: Slice of cucumber
Method: Shake all in a cocktail shaker with ice and fine strain into a martini glass.
