Der Sieg in der Art of Italicus Aperitivo Challenge 2019 geht an Selia Bugallo. Die Bartenderin aus dem „Kwãnt“ in London überzeugte mit ihrer Cocktailkreation „The Three of Us“ die Experten-Jury des internationalen Finales, das bereits am 4. November im „Paradiso“ in Barcelona ausgetragen wurde. Ihr Drink vereint den Italicus – Rosolio di Bergamotto mit Kaffee-infundiertem Sake und Oloroso Sherry sowie Rosmarin und Grapefruit Tonic, garniert mit einem Basilikumblatt. Insgesamt traten die Besten aus zwölf Nationen gegeneinander an. Für Deutschland ging Peggy Knuth aus der „Fragrances Bar“ im The Ritz-Carlton in Berlin an den Start.
Siegerin Selia Bugallo sagte: „Winning the title of Best Italicus Bar Artist 2019 with The Art of Italicus, my first cocktail competition, is such an honour. In creating this aperitivo I was inspired by my experience as a professional Flamenco Dancer and its beauty and simplicity. The path to success in dance is to connect your mind, body and soul – which is where the title The Three of Us came from. I used this to put together a simple yet beautiful drink, just like the art of Flamenco.“
